MP for Akim Swedru Kennedy Osei Nyarko has urged delegates of the New Patriotic Party’s upcoming presidential elections to nominate Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the party’s flagbearer for the 2024 elections.
He claimed that Bawumia had silenced his critics, stabilised the economy, and given many Ghanaians a new lease on life despite the global economic crisis. He made the request when Dr. Bawumia met some of the members from the Greater Accra Region.
The politician highlighted the importance of the 2024 election and warned that it would be difficult for the NPP to break the country’s eight-year political cycle without Dr Bawumia.
Kennedy Osei Nyarko said that Dr. Bawumia is the “right President Ghana needs in the midst of the terrible economic situation across the globe” and also the best choice for flagbearer of the NPP in the upcoming general election.
He claims that Dr. Bawumia is familiar with the situation of the Ghanaian economy and has survived the test of time. He stated that in order for the NPP to win in 2024, they must accept Dr. Bawumia as their leader and follow his guidance.
He stated that it would be in the best interest of the party for the delegates to decide on voting for the vice president, Although all the people who had shown interest in running for the NPP’s flagbearership position up to this point were “good presidential materials” with track records in the country’s politics.
Mr. Nyarko claims that the experienced economic management team under the direction of Dr. Bawumia is currently helping Ghana’s economy flourish. He also stated that Dr. Bawumia has not only marketed himself but also shown Ghanaians that he is the key to the country’s economic restoration.
