There’s a renewed sense of excitement in the diaspora community as the 3G Media Awards officially unveils its 15th Special Edition, a milestone moment for one of the most respected platforms celebrating African excellence worldwide.
Set for Friday, October 23, 2026, the event will take place at the Ukrainian Youth Center in Yonkers, bringing together changemakers, creatives, and leaders from across the globe for a night themed “A Night of Heroes”.
Behind the vision is Charles N. Ntiamoah-Mensah, widely known in media circles as “Mr. CNN,” whose journey reflects decades of dedication. He has spent 31 years in the United States and 26 years in media and showbiz. His achievements also include 18 years of 3G Magazine and 17 years of the awards platform, along with ventures in business, ministry, and now a growing travel agency.
But beyond the milestones, this year’s message is simple. It is about recognizing people who quietly make a difference.
“These are the true heroes of our time. People who have stayed committed to excellence and service, often without recognition,” he shared.
The evening will begin with a red carpet reception at 7:00 PM, followed by the main ceremony at 8:00 PM, creating an atmosphere that blends glamour with purpose.
Since its launch in 2009 by 3G Media Group LLC, the awards scheme has grown into a strong platform connecting Africans at home and abroad, highlighting stories of resilience, innovation, and impact.
This year’s edition also carries a deeper cause. Under the advocacy theme “Rise for the Kidneys,” the event will shine a light on important health issues including kidney disease, stroke, high blood pressure, and heart conditions, encouraging awareness, policy support, and community action.
In a move to broaden its reach, nominations are now officially open to everyone, not just Ghanaians. Organizers are calling on the public, institutions, and media houses to submit names of individuals who have truly earned recognition through hard work and measurable impact.
With New York City as the backdrop, the 15th edition promises more than just an awards ceremony. It is shaping up to be a global gathering of purpose driven individuals and a celebration of stories that deserve to be told.
As anticipation builds, one thing is clear. The 3G Media Awards is not just about honoring success. It is about reminding the world that behind every achievement is a story worth celebrating.
