Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia claims that In terms of infrastructure development, the Akufo Addo administration is second to no other administration in the Fourth Republic.
Dr. Bawumia, who just submitted his nomination forms to run for the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), spoke at the party headquarters. He said that despite the many obstacles he has faced, his honesty, hard work, dedication, and discipline in his job as Vice President helped him reach this goal. Dr. Bawumia says he has a clear vision for the country and will take it to the next level if he is elected.
“Notwithstanding the economic challenges of our time, our government has constructed more infrastructure than any other government in the fourth republic, and many transformational policies have been introduced in our history, including the Ghana Card, Digital Address, Mobile Money Interoperability, Delivery of Medicines by Drones, One District, One Factory, Planting for Food and Jobs, Zongo Development Fund, Agenda 111, Free TVET, and Free SHS, to mention a few. We have also created 2.1 million jobs in six years, more than any government in the fourth republic”.
“Having implemented these transformational policy initiatives, it is very important that we don’t go backward as a country. We cannot put the country back in the hands of people who don’t have an understanding of and belief in the vision. That is why we need to break the eight. There is still much more to do,” he said.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is married to Samira Bawumia. Before moving on to the Akosombo International School (AIS) and finally the Mfantsiman Girls’ Secondary School in Saltpond in the Central Region of Ghana, Samira began her early education at the Answarudeen Islamic School at Fadama and Alsyd Academy in Accra.
Samira won the Ghanaian Women Association of Georgia Global Humanitarian Award in May 2022 for her efforts to improve women’s empowerment, maternity and child health, and education in the USA. Additionally, she was acknowledged by Macon-Bibb County and the Atlanta City Council.
