Why Agya Koo Thinks NPP Will Win Assin North Elections

Veteran Ghanaian actor Alex Adu Kofi, popularly known as Agya Koo, claims the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will lose the Assin North by-election because of the good works the Akufo-Addo government.

To help the New Patriotic Party (NPP) win the Central Region’s Assin North Constituency by-election, Agya Koo has thrown his support behind them.

After the Supreme Court ruled that the election of former MP James Gyakye Quayson was invalid, a new election was scheduled for June 27, 2023. The court ruled that the candidate’s election was invalid because, contrary to Ghanaian law, he had dual citizenship at the time he applied to run for office.

According to the legendary Kumawood actor, Nana Addo’s outstanding performance will win over the voters in the constituency, making it possible for the NPP candidate to win.

The actor claimed that prominent members of the opposition New Democratic Party (NDC) were spreading false information about President Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in order to sway voters against them on the issue of LGBTQ+ legalisation.

In an interview with Ambassador TV, Agya Koo predicted that voters in Assin North Constituency will come out in large numbers for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) because of President Akufo-Addo’s and the NPP’s advancement of the region.

“Ambassador, Come to Assin North to see the asphalt roads, markets, schools, and other projects that NPP and Nana Addo are working on to improve the area. “The people of Assin North are ready to thank NPP and Nana Addo with their votes,” Agya Koo said.

“NDC propaganda against President Akufo-Addo and the NPP over LGBTQ will never give them victory in Assin North.” NDC members are only spreading lies to win pity votes in Assin North, but the people of Ghana know that President Akufo-Addo and the NPP will never accept the LGBTQ community.

“I don’t know why the NDC thinks that the people of Assin North will choose propaganda over development. They have witnessed the excellent work done by Nana Addo and the NPP in the district.”

“If the NPP wins the Assin North seat, the constituency will witness more developmental projects,” since the NPP’s parliamentary candidate in Assin North would work with the government to bring about more such projects,” he added.
