In a recent interview with Asempa FM, Henry Asante Twum, Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), confirmed that changes would soon be made to the Black Stars’ technical team ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
“As discussed in the last Executive Council meeting, the issue of changes to the technical team was thoroughly examined,” Twum explained.
He revealed that, aside from the head coach, Otto Addo, the contributions and input of the assistant coaches, who have been with the team since March last year, were also evaluated.
The GFA’s decision to make adjustments to the technical team comes as part of a broader review of the Black Stars’ performance and preparations for the World Cup qualifiers scheduled for March.

Twum emphasized that the analysis focused on all members of the backroom staff, with several suggestions being brought forward.
“After thoroughly analyzing the work of the backroom staff, it was decided that some changes should be made,” Twum added.
However, he was cautious in naming specific individuals who would be affected by the changes.
“I cannot confirm at this stage who will leave the technical team,” he said. “Three people were given a task to return to the Executive Council with certain recommendations, and the final decision will be made soon.”
Despite the uncertainty over who will be affected, Twum was clear on the need for swift action.
“We have no time to waste because the World Cup qualifiers are right around the corner in March,” he noted.
“If new faces are being brought in, they must be integrated into the team quickly so they can settle in ahead of the next phase of the qualifiers.”
