Leicester City’s manager, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, has shared his disappointment over the unfortunate injury that has sidelined Abdul Fatau Issahaku just as the team gears up for a crucial Premier League encounter with Manchester City.
Issahaku, who has been a key player for the Foxes this season, suffered a serious knee injury during the recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
This injury, which is expected to rule him out for the remainder of the season, has left Van Nistelrooy with a major gap to fill in his squad.

Reflecting on the loss, Van Nistelrooy shared, “Losing Fatawu to a cruciate injury was a huge blow, especially just a week before I took over. It’s a massive setback for the team.”
Issahaku, who had been in strong form for Leicester, will now focus on his rehabilitation while missing out on the chance to help Ghana in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar next March.
For Leicester, the timing couldn’t be worse, as they prepare to take on a Manchester City side that has struggled to find its rhythm this season.
