In a recently resurfaced video, a moment from 2006 has come back into the spotlight, revealing the unexpected and entertaining interaction between footballer Wayne Rooney and rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs at a charity auction hosted by David Beckham.

At the event, held in Beckham’s mansion in Hertfordshire as part of a World Cup charity auction, Rooney made headlines by placing a remarkable $150,000 bid for a weekend with Diddy.

The event took an amusing turn when Diddy, never one to shy away from theatrics, uninvitedly joined Beckham on stage to auction off a series of exclusive experiences.

With his characteristic flair, Diddy presented three tempting options: a weekend at his luxurious Hamptons estate, a studio session with him in either New York or London, or an unforgettable night out in New York City.

He threw in a signature Diddy-style promise, saying, “I promise you, your a** will wake up Wednesday, laying beside me,” to the laughter and cheers of the audience.

Rooney ended up securing the bid for what Diddy described as an all-out party in New York, where he promised that the footballer would return a “changed man” after their weekend together. “After he comes to New York, we’ll probably be cousins.

It’ll be a non-stop party with lots of sexy ladies,” Diddy humorously added, further heightening the intrigue and excitement of the moment.

Diddy’s spontaneous appearance, complete with promises of luxury, wild parties, and even joking about the aftermath of their time together, was a highlight of the star-studded event, which featured many famous names from the sports and entertainment worlds.

Though the event was for charity, Diddy’s light-hearted comments and the hefty bid from Rooney added an unforgettable layer to the affair, marking it as one of those iconic moments where sports and entertainment collided in the most humorous way possible.

After various A-List stars including Sharon Osbourne begin to bid on the offer, Rooney wins by settling on $150,000, on the condition he can bring along a friend.

Rooney’s wife Coleen reportedly stopped her husband from attending the night out in New York with Diddy, according to Diddy.
