An unforgettable night of gospel and cultural excellence unfolded in Kumasi last Christmas when renowned Ghanaian gospel musician Noble Nketsiah teamed up once again with the Manklalo Cultural Group for a powerful live performance on the campus of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The event, organized as part of the Christmas festivities before students embark on christmas break, was designed to foster godliness among students while grounding them in the rich cultural music traditions of Ghana. It drew a large audience of students, residents, and gospel music enthusiasts from across the Ashanti Region.

The collaboration marked another significant moment between Noble Nketsiah and the Manklalo Cultural Group, years after their memorable joint appearance at the “Rhythm of Praise” event, which left a lasting impression on patrons. Their reunion on the KNUST campus was met with excitement and high anticipation, as many looked forward to witnessing the blend of gospel inspiration and traditional Ghanaian rhythms once again.

Throughout the evening, the two forces delivered a repertoire of uplifting gospel and culturally infused songs. Among the highlights of the night were their joint renditions of Ayeyi and Adom Gye Yen, two powerful songs they previously recorded together. The live performance of these songs resonated deeply with the audience, who sang along passionately and responded with thunderous applause.

Manklalo Cultural Group, known for its dynamic structure of female vocalists and male instrumentalists, brought amazing traditional instrumentation and choreography to the stage. Their rhythmic drumming and harmonious backing vocals provided a rich cultural texture that complemented Noble Nketsiah’s commanding vocal delivery and spiritually charged stage presence.

The atmosphere on campus was electric yet reverent. Attendees described the event as both spiritually refreshing and culturally enlightening. Many students expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that it successfully combined faith-based encouragement with a celebration of Ghanaian heritage.

Organizers emphasized that the Christmas program sought to inspire moral uprightness and deepen students’ spiritual lives, particularly during the festive season. At the same time, it aimed to reconnect young people with indigenous musical expressions that continue to shape Ghana’s identity.

By the end of the night, it was clear that Kumasi had fully embraced the performance. The successful reunion between Noble Nketsiah and Manklalo Cultural Group not only rekindled a cherished musical partnership but also reaffirmed the power of gospel and traditional music in bringing communities together during the Christmas season.
