Sadio Mane Tips Ghana To Win AFCON 2023

Despite the decline of football in Ghana spreading to all the other national teams in the country, Sadio Mane has tipped the Black Stars as one of the favourites to win next year’s AFCON tourney.

The 2021 AFCON champion thinks Cameroon, Egypt, Morocco, and the Black Stars all have a chance to win the tournament.

Ghana has not yet qualified for the competition after being defeated by Madagascar in the penultimate AFCON qualifying match last month. Egypt, Morocco, and Cameroon have all clinched spots in the competition that will take place in January.

“The AFCON is full of surprises, but we know the usual best teams like the hosts, Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, Ghana, Algeria and Cameroon,” he said, as quoted by Joueurs Cameronais.

Ghanaian journalist Owuraku Ampofo caught wind of Sadio’s proclamation and perforated it in a post on Twitter saying it’s obvious the Sneegalese international does not keep track of what is happing to Ghana presently. He posted;

Sadio Mane listed Ghana as part of the AFCON favourites for next year. I’m confident he has barely watched any international football in the past two years.
