In a surprising turn of events, two-time champions Medeama faced a crushing defeat with a 1-0 loss against Skyy FC, leading to their exit from the MTN FA Cup on Sunday.
The critical moment came in the 7th minute when Eric Antwi Konadu capitalized on a goalkeeping error by Kwadwo Amoako, securing the only goal of the match at St Martins Park in Daboase.
The defeat adds to Medeama’s recent struggles on the domestic scene, with a goalless draw against Karela United and a loss to Real Tamale United revealing potential challenges within the team.

The atmosphere at St Martins Park was charged with excitement as Skyy FC confidently outplayed the giants, earning them a spot in the Round of 16.
Despite a goalkeeper change, with Abdul Adam Jabal replacing first-choice Felix Kyei, Medeama couldn’t turn the tide, and Skyy FC’s early lead proved to be insurmountable.
Skyy FC’s solid performance and quick transitions kept Medeama rattled throughout the match, and despite a disallowed goal over an offside, the Daboase-based side secured their victory.
