Kwaku Manu strongly opposes the proposed drug test for his close friend Lilwin.
Following Lilwin’s unfortunate accident in Kumasi, just hours before the premiere of his movie Country Called Ghana, there have been demands from certain individuals to conduct a blood test on Lilwin to check for any signs of alcohol or drug consumption, considering the reported speed at which he was driving.
This call was initiated by Afia Schwarzenegger, who claimed in a video that Lilwin may have been intoxicated before the accident, which tragically resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy named Nana Yaw.
Nevertheless, Kwaku Manu believes that this demand is unnecessary and exaggerated.
“There are some artistes, parliamentarians who smoke, and nowadays the weed toffee has become very common for most people. I have never seen him smoke or use marijuana.
“LilWin’s claim that someone may die on Friday as a result of his movie premiere in Kumasi was not something serious. But unfortunately, it coincided with the accident,” he said during the interview.
The Kumawood actor and filmmaker was involved in a car accident in Amakom, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region.
Reports indicate that Lilwin and two others were travelling to an undisclosed radio station for an interview to promote his film, A Country Called Ghana when his Salon Benz car collided with another vehicle driven by a man who was with his son.
Lilwin and the other passengers suffered injuries and were promptly taken to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
The accident occurred Saturday morning in front of the Grace Baptist Church at Amakom.
Unfortunately, the accident resulted in the death of the three-year-old boy travelling with his father.
