Lilwin has decided to postpone the premiere of his film ‘A Country Called Ghana’ due to the tragic death of a three-year-old boy involved in the accident on May 25.

The young boy, Richard Amponsah also known as Nana Yaw, passed away while undergoing treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on the same day of the accident. He has since been buried by his grieving family.

A statement from Lil Win’s management, Weezy Empire, announced that the premiere originally scheduled for Saturday, June 1 has been rescheduled as a tribute to the young boy who lost his life.

See below for the full statement;

“The management of Wezzy Empire regretfully announces the postponement of the premiere of its movie “A Country Called Ghana,” initially scheduled to be screened in Sunyani on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

“This difficult decision was made in respect of the memory of the three-year-old boy, Nana Yaw, who unfortunately lost his life in a tragic accident involving our Chief Executive Officer, Kwadwo Nkansah “Lil Win,” last Saturday and to join the family in mourning their loss.

“The CEO and management extend their sincere condolences to the bereaved family and wish a speedy recovery to the father, Mr. Jacob Kofi Amponsah. We also understand that our previous communication may have been perceived as insensitive, and we apologize for any unintended distress caused.

“As Lil Win and our artist manager, Ray Moni, continue to receive treatment at the Accident Emergency Unit of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, our thoughts are with them for a speedy recovery.

“We assure fans who have procured tickets that their tickets remain valid and can be used at a later date to be communicated.

“The Wezzy Empire team and the event planner will announce a new date in due course.

“We appreciate the love shown to our artist in these trying times and wish to apologize for any inconvenience the changes may bring.
