Kenya’s marathon world record-holder Kelvin Kiptum, a rising star poised for Olympic glory in Paris, has tragically lost his life in a car accident.

The 24-year-old athlete, along with his coach Gervais Hakizimana, perished in a single-vehicle crash near Kapsabet.

Kiptum’s promising career had garnered international attention after his record-breaking performance at the Chicago Marathon last year. His untimely death has deeply affected Kenya, a nation where athletes are revered as heroes.
