Ahead of Ghana’s crucial Round 4 match against Sudan, Ghana’s coach Otto Addo has addressed the media, candidly discussing the challenges his team faces while navigating the path to qualification.
“Look, this assurance that everybody’s talking about, why? For what?” Addo questioned, referring to the growing expectations from fans and pundits alike.
“This is football. I cannot even assure you; that maybe God will take me tomorrow, and I’m dead. What can I assure you?”
His response reveals a profound understanding of the sport’s uncertainties, where even the most seasoned players and coaches cannot predict the outcome with absolute certainty.

With the next match against Sudan on the horizon, Addo made it clear that the journey to qualification is not over yet. “It’s still in our own hands. We have to win the next game, that’s all,” he asserted.
The coach is not sugarcoating the challenges ahead. “Then still, we are not qualified yet. Then it’s still a long way,” he acknowledged, recognizing the uphill battle his team faces. As he looked ahead, he underscored the competitive nature of the qualifiers.
“It’s going to be very, very tough to the last match, I think. But we will do it,” he concluded, instilling a sense of hope and determination in his players and fans alike.
