Dreamville’s soulful songstress, Ari Lennox, has announced her plans to permanently leave social media, revealing that the platforms have negatively impacted her happiness and growth.
In a message to her fans, Lennox opened up about her decision, describing it as a necessary step toward personal fulfilment and freedom.
“I’m working on a plan to transition off of social media for good,” Lennox began, sharing her intention to leave Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok behind.

She explained that her reliance on these platforms had become toxic, hindering her ability to mature and find true happiness. “I don’t believe I’ll ever mature and be happy as long as I have it. So my last day of socials will be December 18th, my 2-year sobriety anniversary.”
Ari’s message wasn’t just about her departure; it was also a declaration of her priorities. “The fear of losing brand deals, music sales, n-ggas, and betches will no longer keep me here,” she stated, illustrating her decision to prioritize her mental health and well-being over the pressures of maintaining an online presence for commercial success.
In addressing her fans directly, Lennox expressed the struggle she’s faced with the online world. “To all of my beautiful fans, I’m just not happy nor thriving here,” she confessed.
“I have a very toxic and codependent relationship with these apps. My happiness is worth more to me than using these platforms to promote.”
The Shea Butter Baby singer continued by shedding light on her struggles with addiction to the internet, gossip, and the constant need for attention and validation.
“I’m so exhausted with my addiction to the internet and gossip and attention and validation and yearning to be in control and oversharing,” she explained. “I just want to be free and complete.”
Despite stepping away from social media, Ari assured her fans that they would still be able to follow her journey in other spaces. “I would like to offer other spaces where you can find me,” she wrote, pointing them to her YouTube channel and official website.
She also shared exciting news about her music, encouraging fans to subscribe to her mailing list for updates on her 2025 album and upcoming tour. “My single Smoke drops 10/18,” she added with a playful wink.
Lennox’s decision comes at a time when many artists and public figures are re-evaluating their relationships with social media, recognizing the emotional toll these platforms can take.
“I’m an extreme person. It will forever be all or nothing with me,” she admitted, emphasizing her need for a clean break from the digital world.

In closing, Lennox acknowledged the broader context of the world’s challenges, writing, “My bad if my drama causes any distractions or insensitivity as I’m aware of the constant horror going on in the world. I just need to give my sweeties a heads up. I’ll be good, and I’m excited for this journey.”
