GFA shares new update on Black Stars technical team after accident

In light of the tragic incident involving the Black Stars technical team, which includes head coach Otto Addo and his assistants John Paintsil and Fatawu Dauda, Henry Asante Twum, the Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, has provided an update on their condition.

He stated that the GFA is committed to offering the necessary assistance to ensure that Otto Addo and his assistants are mentally prepared for the upcoming match against Angola on Thursday as part of the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers.

In an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, Twum conveyed the encouraging news that psychological support will be made available to Otto Addo, John Paintsil, and Fatawu Dauda to help them focus on the crucial game against the Sable Antelopes.

GhanaStreetJournal, in a report culled from MyNewsGh, indicated that the technical team of Ghana’s Black Stars was involved in an accident on the Tarkwa-Takoradi highway.

Fortunately, it appeared that no one sustained injuries in the serious incident; however, all individuals on board have been taken to the hospital for precautionary medical evaluations.

While the team members emerged without physical harm, they are undergoing checks as a safety measure.

Meanwhile, online footage which surfaced revealed the severity of the accident and highlighted the fortunate outcome that no fatalities or serious injuries occurred.
