Crystal Palace made sure to acknowledge Jordan Ayew‘s outstanding performance for Ghana against the Central African Republic in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The son of the legendary Abedi Pele who celebrated his 100th cap for the Black Stars, showcased his skills by scoring a remarkable hat trick.
This remarkable feat greatly contributed to Ghana’s victory in the match, which concluded with a score of 4-3. Crystal Palace took to their official X page to express their pride and admiration for Ayew’s exceptional display on the field.
“Jordan Ayew 👏👏👏 A hat-trick and a win,” accompanied by three applause emojis and a Ghana flag.
During the press conference following the game, Jordan Ayew and Otto Addo addressed the media, revealing that Ayew has been playing in an unfamiliar position for both his club and the national team for quite some time.
In a recent interview after the match, Ayew discussed the difficulties he has faced with his positioning.
“I’ve been playing out of position for quite some time in the national team and also at the club level. But I have always done my duty, put my country first, and never complained because I always give my all.”
He further elaborated on his preferred position: “It’s difficult. It’s not something that I like to talk about, but obviously, my favorite position right from the academy, in France, and in the national team has always been as a number 9.”
Despite the challenges, Ayew emphasized his adaptability: “I understand because I have qualities that allow me to play in the pockets of spaces, and I don’t complain.”
