Berla Mundi Takes On Akufo-Addo Over Dumsor

Published on

, Ghana Street Journal

Berla Mundi has penned an open letter to the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo urging him to address the pressing issue of the energy crisis, commonly known as dumsor, that has plagued the nation.

Respectfully, she implored the President and the energy sector handlers to refrain from deceiving the Ghanaian people with false information and propaganda, as the citizens are enduring the distressing consequences of this ongoing crisis.

The famed television personality highlighted that the data obtained by her and fellow journalists at TV3 revealed a shortage of fuel to generate power.

This, she claims contradicts the claims made by the President and his officials, who attribute the power outages to faulty transformers.

Consequently, she requested the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to convey the truth to the president, enabling him to uphold transparency with the citizens of Ghana.

In a post on x sighted by Tru News Report, here’s what Berla Mundi said:

@NAkufoAddo , good morning Sir, with all due respect, why are your communicators still insisting that the energy crises are a result of faulty transformers when PURC has clearly described that as factually inaccurate?

These are the current power generation figures as at 7am today, indicating our inability to generate adequate power because we don’t have enough fuel.

So why are we not being told the truth when you can clearly see that we are suffering? #tv3newday
