The stage is set for an electrifying final showdown at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament as the host nation, Ivory Coast, secures their spot against Nigeria in the championship match.

After weeks of enthralling action, the tournament culminates with the highly anticipated final set for Sunday, February 11, 2024.

The semi-final matches unfolded on Wednesday when Nigeria came up against South Africa while Ivory Coast faced DR Congo at the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara.

In a tightly contested encounter, Sébastien Haller’s lone goal, assisted by Max Gradel, proved decisive, granting Ivory Coast a narrow victory over DR Congo.

Earlier, Nigeria had clinched a thrilling 4-2 penalty shootout win against South Africa in the first semi-final match.
