Shatta Wale has dragged Stonebwoy for his ongoing dissatisfaction with the Grammys, particularly in light of a recent article published on their website discussing Hiplife and its origins.
In a recent interview with MC Portfolio, Stonebwoy offered a new viewpoint, prompting Shatta Wale to assert that his rival would be wiser to refrain from showcasing his lack of understanding.
Shatta Wale remarked that while Stonebwoy’s music is contemporary, the article focuses on the original creators of that genre, suggesting that he should stop seeking recognition for something he does not rightfully possess.
In a post GhanaStreetJournal sighted on X, Shatta Wale said;
Oh Yes!!! your style is contemporary but the article is talking about the pioneers of that style.. You are not an Originator,Just a carbon paper so shut da F up !! @stonebwoy Bob Marley said it: School make dem tun into fools ampa

In a sequel to this report, GhanaStreetJournal mentioned that Stonebwoy was still resolute in his criticism of a high-profile article published on a Grammy website, which highlights the pioneers of hiplife and the development of Ghanaian sounds that have influenced various genres across Africa.
During a recent podcast hosted by MC Portfolio in Kumasi, shortly after attending an all-black party at Ridge Condos, he revisited the topic.
Despite facing backlash from various quarters, including some of his devoted fans who questioned his critique of the article due to his absence from it, Stonebwoy reiterated his confusion regarding the report’s wording.
He stated that as one of Ghana’s most significant artists, he should have been included in the article, regardless of its focus on hiplife.
He emphasized that he draws inspiration from hiplife and noted that many of the artists mentioned in the article do not match his level of achievement.
He also raised concerns about the inclusion of Black Sherif and King Paluta, questioning their presence on a list that is meant to honour legends, given that they are relatively new to the industry.
