Joe Mettle, the former TGMA Artiste of the Year winner, has disclosed that iconic rapper Sarkodie had once approached him for a potential collaboration.
However, he said he respectfully declined the offer, explaining that he was not inclined to collaborate with secular artists as far as entertainment in Ghana is concerned at the moment.
According to Joe Mettle, he has not received any spiritual guidance to engage in such endeavours at this time.
He shared this insight during an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, emphasizing that his decision is firmly supported by the Holy Spirit.
Joe Mettle further expressed his willingness to obey if the Holy Spirit directs him otherwise.
“Sarkodie and I talked about it and we understood each other so in a point blank, it is a door I wouldn’t want to open,” he said.
“Remember a conversation about what the Spirit says… When the spirit allows you to do certain things, he has His reasons for it but once I have a release in my spirit, I will do it”, he said on Hitz FM.
He further disclosed that several individuals have made requests for featuring, which he will only fulfill when the “spirit dictates”.
“I don’t want to do it because I have so many friends and to do one will mean doing it for all. I have had a few of my friends aside from Sarkodie such as Manifest arguing I don’t want to give them a feature in songs but truly, I will when the time comes”, he stated.
