Ghanaian rapper Amerado has recently shared insights about his strategic approach to releasing music, particularly about King Paluta’s hit song “Makoma.”
During an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Showbiz A-Z on Joy FM, Amerado discussed his collaborative plans and the dynamics of the music industry.
Amerado explained, “Myself and my team, we have plans. Sometimes people make it seem they think about you more than you think about yourself, which is very bad.” He revealed that he had originally intended to release his track “Playman” on the same day King Paluta dropped “Makoma.”

However, upon learning that Paluta would be releasing his song that Friday, Amerado decided to postpone his release by a week, showing support for his fellow artist.
He emphasized, “I am not a magician, I didn’t know ‘Makoma’ was going to be too big,” but he maintained that the success of one song should not derail his plans.
Amerado noted that despite the popularity of “Makoma,” his own track “Date Rush” had garnered significant interaction on TikTok, illustrating that not all songs need to overshadow others.
Furthermore, Amerado expressed the importance of diversity in music, stating, “The fact that we are playing King Paluta doesn’t mean we cannot play ‘Amerado.’
We cannot play one person’s song all the time.” He acknowledged that not every release will achieve massive success, highlighting that even established artists like Daddy Lumba and Amakye Dede have varying levels of hit songs.
