I’m Ready to Work with Barima Sidney When the Time Is Right- Amerado

Ghanaian rapper Amerado has opened up about the challenges of collaborating with industry legends, specifically addressing recent comments made by Barima Sidney.

He recounted, “A typical example is the legendary Barima Sidney. He sent me a song, and I loved the song, but I spoke to my team that I think that maybe this is not a song that I could really deliver on. So I requested a remix of one of his monster hits, but that couldn’t happen too,” he said in an interview on Joy FM.

Amerado acknowledged the weight of Barima Sidney’s stature in the music industry and expressed his admiration, stating, “I’ve seen a couple of interviews where the legendary Barima Sidney has been talking about the fact that I ignored a feature.

He should take it easy on me because who wouldn’t want to work with Sidney? But sometimes, maybe we will work on a song that I can really deliver on.”

While addressing the situation, Amerado also highlighted his commitment to collaborating with other artists.

He shared an example of his recent work with gospel artist Joyce Blessing, revealing, “Joyce Blessing sent me a song two days ago, and I did it yesterday for her because I could really connect with the song, her ‘Overdo’ song, and we are working on a remix.”

Background

One of the pioneers of Hiplife, Barima Sydney revealed how Amerado snubbed him for collaboration during an interview with Giovani Caleb on 3FM on Thursday, July 11 and monitored by GhanaStreetJournal.

Sydney expressed his desire to reconnect with the music scene and regain his former glory by collaborating with one of the current generation’s hottest rappers.

His team suggested Amerado, known for hits like Kwaku Ananse, as a suitable candidate for this project.

The veteran rapper said despite reaching out to Amerado and requesting his instrumental for the collaboration, he received no response after a few days.

When he finally contacted Amerado, he was informed that the management had advised against the collaboration and suggested a remix of one of his older songs instead.

Disappointed by this turn of events, Sydney said he decided to move forward with the project and was introduced to King Paluta through Okyeame Kwame.
