Ghanaian fashion influencer Nana Akua Addo is urging Ghanaian celebrities to bring a fresh perspective to red-carpet events both locally and internationally.
She believes that the era of flaunting car keys and expensive smartphones as a fashion statement is outdated.
Nana Akua points out that Nigerians have already surpassed this superficial display and have elevated fashion to new heights when it comes to high-profile red-carpet appearances.
Renowned for her impeccable fashion sense and bold fashion choices at significant gatherings, Nana Akua emphasizes that people are no longer interested in simply what someone is wearing.
She is of the view that it is time celebrities especially work on getting personal assistants to help them with such things In the future.
“We should stop taking our phones and car keys to Red Carpets, it is old-fashioned. Sometimes Ghanaians will be on the Red Carpet and you have to tell them to take their phones away and that is when they will give their phones to their PAs.
“Nigerians are taking fashion to a different level. Very professional. Their PAs are assistants so before they get onto the Red Carpet, all these things are gone. The focus is just you, your brand and what you are wearing, nothing to distract you.
“But here, God, everybody wants to hold their car key and I think it’s so wrong. You can stack it anywhere. Who cares about the car that you drive? You are here to showcase what you’re wearing. The moment the car key is showing It takes that aura away. So no more phones and no more goats on the red carpet,” she said as quoted MyNewsGH.
