The global fashion industry is mourning the loss of one of its greatest visionaries. Giorgio Armani, the legendary Italian designer whose name became synonymous with timeless elegance, has died at the age of 91.
News of his passing broke Thursday morning through Sky News, and was later confirmed by the Armani Group in an emotional statement shared on Instagram:
“With infinite sorrow, the Armani Group announces the passing of its creator, founder, and tireless driving force: Giorgio Armani.”

The statement noted that Armani remained deeply committed to his work until his final days, a reflection of the passion that defined his remarkable career.
According to reports, Armani missed a runway preview show earlier this week due to an undisclosed condition — the first absence of its kind in his career. Still, he watched the show via livestream, underscoring his lifelong dedication to the brand he built.

The designer passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.
While Armani’s funeral will be private, a public viewing is planned this weekend in Milan, Italy, giving fans and admirers the chance to pay their final respects to the man who reshaped modern fashion.
