Volta Region Flood: Mahama Denies Reports Of Attack On Akufo-Addo

John Dramani Mahama, Ghana’s ex-president, has denied claims that he said the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government would have reacted differently if the flood in the Volta Region had occurred in the Ashanti Region.

The former president responded to a flyer with a quote he allegedly made on September 17, 2023, by posting on X and claiming the words on the flyer were fabricated.

He criticised the article that dialysightonline.com had published, held the Office of the President accountable for it, and advised the general public to ignore it.

“This is false, and they know it! Kindly ignore such acts of disinformation from the Office of the President of Ghana,” Mahama urged the public to disregard it.

According to a flyer published by dailyinsightonline.com, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would have given those affected by the floods greater assistance if they were Ashantis.

“Akufo-Addo does not want to come to Volta Region to inspect the havoc of the spillage. If it was Ashanti Region he would have rushed there. Are Ewes not human beings too? Are Asantes more human beings than Ewes?” the flyer reads.
