In a recent appearance on UTV’s United Showbiz, media personality Vida Adwumawaa called on Ghanaians to show empathy towards Bishop Salifu Amoako, whose family has been thrust into the public eye following a tragic accident involving his son, Elrod Amoako.

Elrod, who was involved in a car crash that claimed the lives of two young women in East Legon, has sparked widespread public outrage, with many questioning why the renowned prophet didn’t foresee the devastating event.

Addressing the audience with compassion, Adwumawaa urged the public to be more understanding of the situation. “People are quick to judge the Bishop for not seeing this coming,” she began, her tone reflecting the emotional complexity of the matter.

“But let’s be real—it’s not everything that God reveals to a prophet. We need to cut him some slack.”

“Just look at what happened to his son Elrod,” she added, pointing to the heartbreak that has befallen the Amoako family. While many have focused on the accident itself, Adwumawaa emphasized the emotional toll the incident has taken on the family behind the headlines.

“It’s essential for us to remember that while prophets may have a connection to the divine, they are also human and can only see so much,” Adwumawaa continued. Her plea was clear: while it’s easy to criticize from the outside, those directly affected by the tragedy are enduring their own form of pain and grief.

“Let’s not forget that the Amoako family is going through unimaginable grief right now,” Adwumawaa concluded. “And while it’s important to hold people accountable, we must also show compassion in moments like this.”
