Prophet Elisha Salifu Amoako has publicly apologized to the families affected by a devastating accident involving his son, which claimed the lives of two young girls.

The accident, which occurred on October 12, 2024, at East Legon, has left both the nation and the victims’ families in deep sorrow.

The prophet, visibly shaken by the tragedy, shared his remorse in a video that quickly went viral on social media.

In his message, he humbly pleaded for forgiveness from the family of the deceased girls and extended his apology to the entire nation. “I’ve wept till there are no more tears,” he said, expressing the depth of his grief and the pain he feels for the suffering caused.

He also called upon fellow religious leaders to mediate and help convey his profound regret to the grieving family, hoping that they may find it in their hearts to forgive both him and his son.

The tragedy unfolded when Elrod Salifu Amoako, the prophet’s son, lost control of the car he was driving, resulting in a fatal collision that not only claimed two lives but also left three others severely injured. Witnesses reported that the vehicle caught fire, trapping the victims inside.

Following the incident, Prophet Salifu Amoako and his wife were arrested and later granted bail, set at GHC 50,000.

While they acknowledged that they had given their son the car, they admitted their oversight in allowing him to drive unsupervised, knowing he was not legally qualified to be behind the wheel. The prophet expressed deep regret for this decision, recognizing the irreparable damage it has caused.

Currently, Elrod Salifu Amoako is receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained during the crash. The emotional toll on the family, however, extends far beyond the physical wounds, as they grapple with the consequences of a tragedy that has shattered multiple lives.

Prophet Salifu Amoako is a popular figure in the Ghanaian religious community and has long been respected for his leadership and spiritual guidance.
