On August 31, 2023, the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco hosted the draw for the group stage of the 2023–24 UEFA Champions League.
Manchester City was fortunate to receive a favourable draw in Group G, which includes RB Leipzig, Red Star Belgrade, and Young Boys.
Meanwhile, Manchester United was drawn against Bayern Munich in Group A, and Napoli was matched up against Real Madrid in Group C, both of which were noteworthy outcomes.

The Champions League group stage comprises a total of 32 teams, consisting of 26 automatic qualifiers and six winners from the Champions League play-off round.
The teams are then divided into four pots of eight for the draw. Spain, England, Germany, and Italy are the countries with the highest representation in the competition, accounting for more than half of the teams.
Notable teams expected to make an impact this season include Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, Arsenal, and the defending champions, Manchester City. Newcastle United, a Premier League representative, will be returning to the top table for the first time in over 20 years. Additionally, USMNT fans will be keenly watching as Christian Pulisic and AC Milan aim to re-establish themselves in the competition.
