Lawyer and activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor has voiced his disappointment over the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) decision to exclude dancehall artist Stonebwoy from the list of performers at the upcoming Ghana Victory Concert.
In a passionate reflection, Barker-Vormawor highlighted Stonebwoy’s non-partisan commitment to national causes, emphasizing that such dedication deserves celebration, not condemnation.
Recalling an earlier interaction with the musician, Barker-Vormawor shared how their connection began with an honest conversation.
“The first thing his handlers did was bring him to come talk to me. We shared a brief moment where he expressed his support for what we were doing and why it was important,” he revealed.
The conversation deepened when Stonebwoy switched to his native Ewe, commending Barker-Vormawor’s efforts and seeking assurance about the non-partisan nature of his activism.

“I told him absolutely not,” Barker-Vormawor affirmed. “I know what some people were claiming. But time will vindicate it.
It has been the commitment of FixTheCountry to open up a non-partisan platform for mobilizing the Young Ghanaian to challenge misgovernance and secure our freedom. We are committed to that.”
The activist lamented claims from certain quarters suggesting that Stonebwoy should be blacklisted because he did not publicly campaign for the NDC.
Addressing these accusations, he declared, “Today, some claim because Stonebwoy did not go out to campaign for the NDC, he ought to be blacklisted.
“I say this only vindicates Stonebwoy and his desire to lend his platform for national causes and not partisan agendas.”
