The Ghana Victory Concert, organized by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has been at the centre of controversy after Stonebwoy, initially announced as the headline act, was removed from the event lineup.
The announcement of Stonebwoy’s inclusion sparked mixed reactions within the party, particularly from grassroots supporters who questioned his alignment with the NDC.
Some speculated that the award-winning artist’s political leanings favoured the opposing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Faced with mounting pressure, the event organizers issued a press statement confirming the removal of Stonebwoy from the concert.

They apologized to both Stonebwoy and the party’s supporters, acknowledging that the decision to include him may have been a misstep.
“Responding to public sentiment and concerns from our grassroots, we have decided to remove Stonebwoy from the concert lineup,” the statement read.
“We sincerely apologize for what may have appeared to be a lack of discretion on our part.”
This development has ignited conversations within the NDC, with some party faithful calling for the inclusion of artists like Mzbel and Nero X, who they believe actively supported the party during its campaign to regain power.
