Ghanaian music star Shatta Wale has voiced his discontent over the recent anti-galamsey protests.
Speaking out against the prevailing political climate, Shatta Wale urged his followers to move away from divisive rhetoric and focus on collective action for the betterment of the country.
The musician expressed his frustration on social media, stating, “Ibe so nooorr u guys come with fix the country and got @efiaodo arrested… Stop this nonsense because this country can only get better if we join hands as citizens and not politicize things.”

His comments reflect a growing concern among many Ghanaians regarding the politicization of social issues, particularly those related to environmental degradation and governance.
Shatta Wale emphasized the importance of unity, calling for citizens to think critically before engaging in protests that could lead to conflict.
He stated, “Some people go collect coins to come and influence you… Influencers with no brains… cheap job to finish your own brothers and sisters.”
The recent protests against illegal mining, known as anti-galamsey demonstrations, have led to considerable unrest in Ghana, resulting in the detention of many participants.
These protests were driven by deep-seated frustration over unlawful mining practices and the government’s perceived failure to tackle the resulting environmental and socio-economic challenges.
