In a recent appearance on Joy Prime’s “Changes” show monitored by Ghanastreetjournal, media personality Sally Mann minced no words in critiquing Shatta Wale, one of Ghana’s most celebrated artists.
Speaking with host Roselyn Felli, Sally expressed her reservations about the dancehall artist’s craft.
“Shatta Wale thrives on creating noise rather than producing meaningful music,” Sally stated.

She further explained that while his showmanship and ability to stay relevant in the industry are commendable, they do not necessarily translate into being a great musician.
Sally also pointed out the importance of music as an art form that transcends trends and hype.
“True musicians leave a legacy of timeless songs, but with Shatta Wale, it’s mostly about the buzz he creates around himself,” she remarked.
Her remarks have sparked widespread reactions, with many fans of Shatta Wale coming to his defence.
Supporters argue that his contributions to the Ghanaian music scene, including his international collaborations and numerous awards, cannot be dismissed as mere noise.
Meanwhile, critics have echoed Sally’s sentiments, saying that the artist should focus more on refining his music to leave a lasting legacy.
