According to reports making rounds, Archbishop Salifu Amoako and his entourage were ‘sacked’ when they attempted to pay their respects to the families of two young girls who lost their lives in a tragic car accident involving his 16-year-old son, Elrad Salifu Amoako.
This incident has sparked discussions about grief, accountability, and the complexities of public figures engaging with communities in times of tragedy.

Reports from pulse.com.gh indicate that the Archbishop, accompanied by a notable entourage that included prominent figures such as Captain Smart, Rev. Owusu Bempah, Kumchacha, and Prophet Eric Boahene, was met with resistance during their visit.
The families of the deceased girls reportedly turned them away, leading to a heightened emotional response from both sides.
Joy News reporter Benjamin Akakpo discussed the situation during the AM show, acknowledging the pain experienced by the families: “I heard he went to the houses of the two victims and was turned away. Indeed, there will be pain. Some of these things should be understandable.”
The rejection is believed to stem from the overwhelming grief and anger felt by the victims’ families. Sources suggest that the manner of the Archbishop’s arrival—a long convoy of luxury vehicles accompanied by a security detail—may have exacerbated the situation.
A witness remarked, “I am sure the family is in pain, and the way they came with a long convoy of luxury cars and a security escort most likely infuriated the families of the deceased victims.”
This sentiment reflects the delicate balance between public gestures of sympathy and the genuine needs of grieving families.
