Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru is expressing his enthusiasm for the opportunity to work with national team coach Otto Addo.
In a recent interview with Flashscore.com, Ashimeru shared his excitement about being called up to the national team, acknowledging the wealth of talent available among Ghanaian players.
“It feels really amazing to be able to be called because we have so many players out here in Ghana,” he stated.
The midfielder, who plays for Belgian club Anderlecht, has long anticipated collaborating with Addo. “Working with Otto Addo is something I’ve been waiting for a long time,” he revealed. “Having the time to work with him, I can say he’s a good coach, and I feel like we have so many things to achieve together.”
Fans of Ghanaian football will undoubtedly be watching closely as Ashimeru and his teammates aim to make their mark under Addo’s guidance.
The Black Stars are gearing up for their upcoming matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. They will kick off their campaign from November 13 to November 21, 2023, starting with a home match against Madagascar and then traveling to Comoros.
Following that, they’ll have another round of matches from June 3 to June 11, 2024, where they will face Mali away and the Central African Republic at home.
Further matches are scheduled for March 17 to March 25, 2025, with Ghana hosting Chad and then playing away against Madagascar.
The qualifiers will continue with fixtures from September 1 to September 9, 2025, leading up to the final matchday from October 6 to October 14, 2025, against Central Africa Republic and Comoros.
