Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa Constituency, Kobina Tahir Hammond has been elected as parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party for the 2024 general election.
He polled 63.86% of total votes cast in the party’s primaries held on Saturday, 27 January 2024.
Reacting to his victory in an interview with the media, the MP borrowing the words of World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Mohammed Ali, described himself as the “undisputed and undefeated heavyweight champion of politics” in Adansi Asokwa.

He had earlier in the day accused one of his contenders of organising thugs to beat up his supporters and threatened to have him beaten to pulp in revenge.
K. T. Hammond who is currently serving his sixth term in Ghana’s parliament is the current Minister for Trade and Industry.
