A 17-year-old Ghanaian resident of London, UK, Nathan Bawuah, has fallen victim to a fatal stabbing in East London.

The incident occurred around 11pm on Saturday, February 17, 2024, along Hackney Road, marking another devastating loss to knife violence in the city.

Charged with murder is another 17-year-old, whose identity remains undisclosed for legal reasons.

The accused, who was scheduled to make an appearance at the Stratford Magistrate Court, was apprehended by detectives on Monday, following the violent episode.

A post-mortem examination is slated to be conducted at Poplar Mortuary to shed further light on the circumstances surrounding Nathan’s untimely demise.

In a heartfelt display of grief, friends of Nathan paid tribute by laying flowers at the scene, remembering him as “a good soul.”

Confirming the charge, a police statement released on Wednesday outlined the events leading to Nathan’s tragic death, extending support to his grieving family during this difficult time.
