Nana Aba Anamoah has sparked a lively debate about the credibility of election polls following Global InfoAnalytics’ recent survey predicting a win for John Dramani Mahama.
In a pointed critique, the seasoned media personality questioned the methodology behind the poll, particularly its reliance on a sample size of just 2,623 individuals.

For her, the gap between such a small figure and the millions of eligible voters in Ghana raised significant doubts about the validity of the findings.
“Musah Danquah’s personal confidence in his polls is fine,” Nana Aba remarked, referencing the founder of Global InfoAnalytics.
“But when the sample size is a fraction of the electorate, it’s worth questioning a lot, including the methodology. It’s not about calculator and margins of error.
“It’s about a representative sample size. How can you tell me that figure is representative?” She further emphasized that using past election figures of over six million voters, the disparity was too glaring to ignore.

Responding to the critique, Musah K. Dankwah confidently defended the poll’s methodology, insisting that it adhered to global statistical standards.
“It is not difficult to calculate a sample size required for a given population; it is available free on the internet,” he explained.
He elaborated that for a voting population of 18.7 million, a sample size of 2,600 provides a 95% confidence level with a 1.9% margin of error. “Please take your calculator and try this next time you criticize anyone’s sample size,” he added.
