Mohammed Kudus has made a significant impact in the English Premier League and his exceptional goal against Newcastle on Saturday has propelled him to surpass a Ghanaian record in the EPL.
Kudus has now become West Ham’s top-scoring Ghanaian player, surpassing the previous record held by Jordan Ayew. What’s truly remarkable is that Kudus achieved this feat in just 35 games, while Ayew took 50 appearances to score 12 goals.
Not only is Kudus a prolific goal scorer, but he also leads all Ghanaians in the Premier League this season with the highest number of goal contributions, totalling 11 (seven goals and four assists).
Kudus’ scoring prowess extends beyond domestic competitions, as he has showcased his talent in the UEFA Europa League and the EFL Cup, scoring an impressive total of 13 goals across all competitions.
Concerning Mohammed Kudus’s blistering life to his West Ham United career, his assistant manager Billy McKinlay mentioned in a previous interview that he is happy the Ghanaian international has adapted smoothly to life at the club.
The Ghanaian midfielder, aged 23, signed a five-year contract with the Hammers during the last transfer window after attracting attention from various other clubs.
“Mohammed Kudus has settled in at the club really well and we can see there is a talented footballer there who cares about his football and wants to come in and contribute,” McKinlay told the club’s Official Website.
“I think we maybe just have to be mindful of the fact it is a really tough league, the Premier League and it’s really difficult to come in and set it alight, ” he added.
