Mohammed Kudus has been included in the Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 ranking for 2023.

Kudus endeared himself to Ghanaians with his outstanding performance for Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign which was staged in Qatar, where he scored two goals in the group stage.

He has since been a key player for both the club and country in the current campaign. The 22-year-old is currently having his most fruitful season in front of goal, netting 20 goals for his club in the 2022/23 campaign, after struggling with injuries in his early days at Ajax.

Kudus is one of two Ghanaians to have been named in Forbes Africa’s list alongside German-based creative director and videographer, Emmanuel Whajah, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of ‘Play The Game’ a social media agency.

Forbes Africa’s 30 Under 30 honours the continent’s most brilliant pioneers, risk-takers, change-makers, and innovators.

Mohammed Kudus recently emphasized that he prioritizes team success over individual honours this season.

The Ghanaian international has made it clear that his ultimate aim is to help Ajax win the Eredivisie and the Dutch Cup despite having scored 17 goals and provided 4 assists across all competitions.

Kudus, who was Ghana’s brightest spot at the 2022 World Cup staged in Qatar expressed his pinion is recent form and the collective ambition of his team on Ajax TV saying; “The goal is to win the cup and the league, and until I achieve that, I haven’t done anything yet.

So, there is more coming, more work to be done.” Kudus’ dedication to team success is commendable, as he recognizes that individual achievements pale in comparison to what the team can accomplish together.

The 22-year-old has received a lot of praise for his performance this year from both fans and analysts, with many naming him as Ajax’s best player. Numerous clubs have taken notice of his performances, with the most talked-about option being a possible reunion with former manager Erik ten Hag.

While expressing happiness for this development, the youngster said the success of Ajax supersedes his individual interest.

He said, “I’m happy with how things have gone for me individually, but I know that the most important thing is what we achieve as a team. Winning the league and the cup would be the perfect end to the season for us, and that’s what we’re working towards.”
