Prophet Kumchacha, born Nicholas Osei, has stirred public debate by advising men to marry multiple women if they cannot remain faithful to one partner.
Speaking on Kingdom FM with host Fiifi Praat, the Founder of Heavens Gate Ministries pointed out that men who commit to one wife often pursue multiple side relationships in secret.

“A lot of men marry one woman but have over five side chics. So, if you marry one wife and still go about misbehaving in town by going after other women, then it will be better to marry more than one to stop cheating,” Kumchacha argued.
Previously, Kumchacha raised the same theme in an interview on a different platform, while clarifying that his advice comes with a crucial condition: financial stability.
“You can’t be living in a single room or a wooden structure and marry more than one wife,” he emphasized, suggesting that only men with adequate resources should consider taking multiple wives.
However, financial analyst Yaw Opoku was quick to critique Kumchacha’s advice, arguing that wealth alone cannot sustain a healthy polygamous household.
“People think money is the ultimate solution to relationship issues, but there’s a lot more to it,” Opoku said on Joy News. “Emotional stability, communication skills, and respect for boundaries matter just as much as finances in such arrangements.”
Some religious leaders have also weighed in, countering Kumchacha’s perspective by stressing commitment and discipline as key to marriage longevity.
Bishop Isaac Opoku of the True Faith Ministry commented on Metro TV, saying, “Infidelity is not solved by more partners; it’s addressed by accountability and integrity.” He believes Kumchacha’s stance may encourage unhealthy behaviour rather than remedying the underlying causes of cheating.

Public reactions on social media reflect diverse opinions, with some individuals viewing Kumchacha’s remarks as empowering for men who believe in polygamy’s benefits, while others see it as undermining the value of monogamous relationships.
Nonetheless, his comments bring renewed attention to the ongoing debate about marriage norms in Ghana.
