Marriage Slows You Down- Actress Beverly Afaglo

Beverly Afaglo has suggested that her career stalled because of marriage, revealing that most actresses she started with are now thriving in the mainstream at her expense.

The Ghanaian actress who also happens to be the wife of rapper & singer Praye Honeho swiftly went on to say that the majority of actresses who entered the movie business after she got married are actively hunting for husbands.

She further added despite the seeming setback, she has been able to also help a family which other actresses who took her shine are yearning for.

“Those people who overtook me whiles I’m home are also now looking for husbands to marry and give birth. That is how God works in his own way. How God works is different from every individual”. Beverly Afaglo told Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM in a recent interview.

“Marriage slows you down and those who are still single in the industry will overtake you though you started before them”, the actress noted.

Beverly is a former student of the Ghana Institute of Media where she studied media and public relations before receiving her training as a beauty therapist at the FC Institute of Beauty Therapy in Ghana. She runs Tema’s Glamour Beauty Salon in addition to acting.

In other entertainment news previously shared on Tru News Report, former French ambassador Anne Sophie Avé has petitioned the government of Ghana to grant diplomatic status to some Ghanaian artistes in recognition of their outstanding representation of the nation in the international arena.

In a tweet on Sunday, July 30, 2033t, Anne Sophie Avé highlighted six Ghanaian music artistes who have been notably boosting Ghana’s reputation on the global stage, each with their own individual style and talent. Amongst the first pool of artists she wants to be the first beneficiaries of this initiative are SarkodieStonebwoy, Black Sherif, Shatta Wale, R2Bees, and King Promise.

Notably, Anne Sophie Avé played a pivotal role in organising the ‘Accra In Paris’ concert in 2022, which showcased Ghanaian musical talent in the heart of France.

The occasion brought together prominent musicians, including Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and Kwabena Kwabena, among others, and served as a dynamic celebration of Ghanaian music, art, and legacy.

Anne Sophie Avé joins the appeal made by a number of singers, notably Sarkodie, for the government to make it easier for artists to obtain diplomatic visas due to the influence they have on promoting Ghana’s image overseas.
