Man Arrested For Killing Soldier At Kasoa Not Our Staff – National Security Ministry

Published on

, Ghana Street Journal

The Ministry of National Security has distanced itself from Benlord Ababio, the man arrested for the killing of a soldier during a land dispute.

Initial reports implied that Benlord was affiliated with National Security. Nevertheless, an official statement from the Ministry clarified that the individual currently detained by the Police is not employed by them.

Benlord Ababio is presently in police custody, cooperating with authorities in probing the circumstances surrounding the Soldier’s murder at Millenium City in Kasoa due to a land dispute.

See below for the full statement:

The Ministry of National Security has taken note of a news item in circulation on social media which alleges that a supposed staff of the Ministry of National Security, by name Benlord Ababio, in an incident that occurred on Tuesday 30th April 2024 at Millennium City, Kasoa, shot and killed a soldier.

The Ministry wishes to put on record that the suspect, Benlord Ababio, who is currently in police custody, is not a staff of the Ministry of National Security.

The public is, therefore, urged to disregard any news item that portrays the suspect as a staff of the Ministry of National Security.
