Kingsley Adumattah Agyapong, popularly known as Wofa K, the chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) UK chapter, has expressed disappointment over the party’s performance in the 2024 general elections, attributing the outcome to a disconnect with the electorate.
Speaking in an interview with Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Wofa K candidly assessed the situation, acknowledging both the party’s efforts and the reasons behind their defeat.

“We did a lot of work. People had sacrificed and moved to the trenches and remote areas to campaign. This is not what we expected. We had put in a lot of work,” he said, praising the efforts of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
“They ran a very good campaign. If campaigns alone determined the winner of the elections, we would have won massively,” Wofa K added, emphasizing the commitment and energy invested by the party.
However, he admitted that the results, while disappointing, were not entirely surprising. “Our expectations were not met. I believe our own attitude and way of doing things caused us to lose touch with the people.
The results were not shocking because Mahama’s second position in 2020 was consistent with the number he won with this time. Over two million people did not vote. That is significant.”

Reflecting on the broader implications, Wofa K lamented the inability to prevent former President John Dramani Mahama from reclaiming victory, despite the party’s best efforts. “We had done our best to ensure Mahama would not win, but we could not achieve our objective.”
