Liverpool Tear Manchester United Into Pieces By 7-0 As History is Recorded At Anfield

On Sunday, Liverpool defeated Manchester United 7-0 at Anfield to win their biggest-ever matchup. Cody Gakpo’s goal set Liverpool on their way to scoring six more goals in the second half.

Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah also scored doubles alongside the Dutchman, and Roberto Firmino added the icing on the cake.

Aside from giving Liverpool three points over the top four, goals from Darwin Nunez (2), Cody Gakpo (2), Mohamed Salah (2), and Roberto Firmino also eliminated any notion that third-place United could still win the Premier League. United have now lost seven straight times to Liverpool and hasn’t triumphed at Anfield since Wayne Rooney’s goal in January 2016.

United hasn’t defeated Liverpool on the road since 2016 and has only scored once in their last seven meetings there. For the first time in a long time, they were meant to face their old rivals on an even playing field on this day, but it turned out to be the same old tale.

By the game’s conclusion, Liverpool’s supporters were shouting “we want eight” to emphasize the extent of their victory.

Although the loss will not affect United’s third-place league finish, Liverpool will be extremely happy with the outcome. After it appeared they would lose out on the top four, they are now pursuing Tottenham and appear poised to surpass Antonio Conte’s group.
