Recent discussions surrounding the reasons behind the collapse of Kumawood have gained momentum, with figures like Portia Asare suggesting that juju is a contributing factor.
In contrast, actor Lilwin has offered an alternative viewpoint. He believes that the real issue lies with fraudulent pastors, who he claims mislead many actors with deceptive messages that adversely affect their decision-making processes.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Agyenkwa FM, Lilwin pointed out that these misleading revelations have led to strained relationships among actors within the industry.
He said: “Many of us in the movie industry always frown whenever you see us because of the things we hear, which are often not true. We are always frowning.”
He said: “There are a lot of people around me. You can’t come and tell me anything you have heard from people because I will call the person you are gossiping about.
“Some of my colleagues are not like me. When they hear something, they keep it to themselves. They might smile and laugh with you, but deep down, they don’t have good thoughts about you.”
The actor revealed that he once had to step in during a confrontation between two film directors who had been misled by a pastor’s false claims.
He also mentioned that he ceased attending church several years ago due to the behaviour of certain pastors.
