Two alleged armed robbers have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the robbery of a bullion vehicle that took place at  Ablekuma Fanmilk in the Greater Accra Region.

According to reports by Angelonline.com, two of the robbers were arrested some days after the robbery. They were brought before a judge and remanded to the custody of the authorities.

A police officer was shot and murdered during a horrifying daylight robbery attack on a bullion van in Accra on June 22, 2023.

The robbers and the two police officers protecting the bullion van in which the money was being transported engaged in a gunfire shootout, resulting in the death of one officer.

CCTV footage from the scene showing how the incident happened was uploaded on social media. As a result of his wounds, the police officer died at the scene.

Reports indicate that the attack took place after the bullion van stopped at a fuel station, probably to refuel. It was at this time that the vehicle was allegedly attacked. Thankfully, the van’s driver was able to get out of there unharmed.

The Ghana Police Service begun a manhunt for the suspected robbers responsible for the attack on the bullion van and the police officer’s death, which has resulted in two people being arrested.
