Jude Bellingham’s hopes of overturning his red card have been dashed, as the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) upheld the decision and handed the Real Madrid star a two-match suspension.
The ruling means Bellingham will miss crucial La Liga fixtures against Girona and Real Betis.
The controversy erupted during Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw against Osasuna when referee José Munuera Montero sent Bellingham off for alleged verbal abuse.
Madrid quickly contested the decision, arguing it was a misunderstanding, but the RFEF’s Disciplinary Committee sided with the referee’s report.

Munuera Montero later revealed that he and his family have faced threats and online abuse since the incident, adding fuel to an already heated debate over referee treatment in Spanish football.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, has vowed to appeal the ban, insisting Bellingham did not intend to disrespect the official.
The suspension is yet another officiating decision that has left Madrid frustrated this season. Manager Carlo Ancelotti has voiced concerns over recent refereeing calls, intensifying tensions between the club and league officials.
With the appeal process underway, the club hopes to get Bellingham back on the pitch sooner rather than later.
