Inaki Williams etched his name deeper into La Liga history over the weekend, netting his 80th league goal as Athletic Bilbao triumphed 2-0 over Villarreal in a commanding display at the Estadio San Mames.
The Black Stars forward showcased his brilliance once again, lasting 85 minutes in a match that saw Bilbao secure their fourth-place position on the league table.
The Basque side struck early through Spain international Aitor Paredes, whose 15th-minute goal set the tone for the clash.
Williams then delivered a clinical finish in the second half, solidifying victory for the home side.
The goal adds to a glittering La Liga career for Williams, who has now featured in 358 games for Athletic Bilbao, contributing consistently to their successes.
With four goals and four assists in just 16 appearances this season, he continues to be a driving force for the team.
This milestone comes during a celebratory period for the Spanish-born Ghanaian, who recently marked a decade with Athletic Bilbao.
Since making his debut on December 6, 2014, Williams has been a cornerstone of the club’s journey, signing his first professional contract in January 2015 and growing into one of their most dependable players.
