Archbishop Kofi Adonten Boateng has opened up about a period of personal hardship and how music, particularly the songs of renowned gospel artist Obaapa Christy, helped him navigate through those dark times.
He spoke about the impact of her music and his respect for her, amid rumors and allegations swirling in the public domain.

“There was a difficult time in my life, and it was Obaapa Christy’s songs that I cried with,” he shared, describing the emotional support her music provided him.
Music often serves as a healing balm for many, and for Archbishop Boateng, the songs of Obaapa Christy played that role. They helped him through personal challenges, connecting him deeply to the spiritual solace gospel music offers.
In light of recent accusations by Pastor Love, the former husband of Obaapa Christy, that Boateng had an inappropriate relationship with the gospel singer, the archbishop firmly denied the allegations. He expressed his stance on the importance of respecting boundaries.
“In this life, there are two things no man should touch: someone else’s belongings and someone else’s wife. It doesn’t end well,” he stated with conviction. Archbishop Boateng emphasized that he values respect and fidelity in relationships, particularly in marriage, and would never breach those principles.
“I’ve got a wife; I cannot go after someone else’s. I am young and handsome, so I definitely will have someone,” he added with a touch of humour, asserting that there is no reason for him to pursue someone else’s spouse when he is content in his own marriage.
Reflecting on his relationship with Obaapa Christy, Archbishop Boateng recounted how their paths crossed when he requested gospel musicians to perform at one of his events. “I met a music producer and asked for gospel musicians to grace an event of mine. He invited Obaapa Christy and others.
When she came, I treated her with respect and care, just as I do for everyone. I love people and humanity,” he explained on Kingdom FM in an interview, affirming that his interaction with the gospel star was strictly professional and filled with mutual respect.
Despite the hurtful accusations, Archbishop Boateng still maintains respect for Pastor Love, acknowledging the pastor’s influence and longevity in ministry.
“When it comes to longevity in ministry, I can boldly say that I am Pastor Love’s child, so I’ll treat this issue with the utmost respect,” Boateng said, showing a level of humility and deference to Pastor Love’s seniority in the faith community.
He further expressed sympathy, saying, “Every marriage has its ups and downs. My heart goes out to Pastor Love; wherever he is, I pray he finds peace and a way through this.”
